16:9 is not the standard aspect ratio which is taken by most of the digital cameras. Almost all photos are shot in standard aspect ratio 4:3,however, it doesn't mean that the digital photos in 4:3 can not display correctly on the widescreen aspect (16:9) digital frame, because most of the digital frame solutions offer an option to set the default aspect ratio,for 7-inch & 10.2-inch 16:9 digital picture frame, just switch the aspect ratio to 4:3, all the digital photos will be displayed at the stardard aspect ratio they were taken.
